the end of april finds us on the eve of another exciting new release, this time from melbourne wonder kids psuche. it's a far reaching collection of experimental pop that captivates more with each listen. but never mind what we think, grab a copy and hear for yourself, or go and catch them at the northcote social club this thursday with support from qua and seagull (solo). you can listen to "ha ha" from the album on this week's triple r soundscape too.
speaking of seagull, the man has been very busy putting together a brand new album by the name of "carmel di mattia" which will be available for pre-order soon, and will be shipping in june. you can get a preview of one of the new songs here.
and kid sam! they've been causing a creative ruckus on radios and stereos all over australia, thank you to everyone who has come to the gigs, bought the music and generally supported the band, it's great to see. they've got a few more gigs coming up soon, check them out here.

the debut LP from kid sam is out on the 15th march and will be launched that same day at the northcote social club in melbourne with special guests patinka cha cha, as well as nick huggins and hazel brown playing some songs together in an extra special set. the lp is now available for pre-order from the store (orders will be sent on the 15th march) and will be available in stores courtesy of fuse music. already recieving extensive airplay on triple j and some mighty kind words from listeners, kid sam are in for an exciting year.
in other news, psuche's album is nearly ready and will be released in april 2009. it sounds freakin awesome and we are really looking forward to helping unleash on the ears of the world.
otouto also has some excellent new songs from their forthcoming album due later in the year on their myspace page.
speaking of myspace pages, our one recently had some issues, and we lost most of our content and friend links. we've fixed it now and are trekking our way around the web to find our lost friends, and get things back on track. sorry for the inconvenience, we hope to see you at the launch on the 15th, it's going to be a corker.

...and if you are lucky enough to be going to the falls festival you'll be able to see that wily bird seagull making some melodic noise. triple j unearthed thought they were pretty special so they decided to send them along. they're playing at 11.15am on the 31st december (not the 29th as previously indicated). and unfortunately he will no longer be appearing at the peat's ridge festival in NSW.

speaking of which there are a few coming up in august so check out the events page to find out more. most exciting is a little tour we are planning which will take in a few places on the east coast a bit further north than our cosy freezing home.

well it's been a little while since we last spoke and much has occurred.
nick launched the shipwreck lp at horse bazaar early this year to much acclaim and the album has been goin great guns in the stores and online. thanks to everyone who has listened and supported it. nick has gone on holidays for a little while after working non-stop for the past six months producing albums for a number of bands (seagull, psuche ensemble, kid sam, eva popov) and playing shows with touch typist.
hazel has been studying and working hard on tracks for her album and it's all sounding quite swell. there's some gigs coming up which you can find out all about on her myspace and shortly in the events section.
seagull is a very busy young man, he's just set off on another east coast tour with whitley and he'll be back in june to launch his album at the northcote social club with great fanfare, visual projections, awesome supports, tap beer and music for dancing. check his myspace and events section for a full list of his gigs.
touch typist are working on tracks for their debut album and will be back playing stages in june.
blake is going through a set of fingernails a week working hard on a multimedia extravaganza for the seagull launch as well as an upcoming show at horse bazaar. hopefully he will be able to post up some work soon, once his eyes return to normal.
tigga is making house and techno music, just like he used to back in the old country.
mark has been super occupied working with eva popov on her album and playing in her band. they are playing saturdays in may at the edinburgh castle on sydney rd in brunswick. he still manages to find time to work on touch typist stuff and write his own piano music.
